L'Absorbs will readily soak up oils and liquid paraffin wax and can be used for various blotting techniques, from highly technical procedures to simple applications such as drying a block from ice during microtomy. SiR-actin is based on the F-actin binding natural product jasplakinolide. SiR-actin is fluorogenic, cell permeable and highly specific for F-actin. Sir-actin stains endogenous F-actin without the need for genetic manipulation or overexpression. Its emission in the far red minimizes phototoxicity and sample autofluorescence. SiR-actin is compatible with GFP and/or m-cherry fluorescent proteins. It can be imaged with standard Cy5 filtersets. SiR-actin can be used for widefield, confocal, SIM or STED imaging in living cells and tissue. Probe quantity allows 50 – 200 staining experiments.

FSC 22 is a water soluble embedding compound used in frozen sectioning. The compound bonds and encapsulates tissue specimens to the object holder for cryosectioning. It provides excellent sectioning consistency with minimal curling of sections at a working temperature of -20 °C. FSC 22 is available in clear or in light blue for better visualization of small specimens. It is highly recommended for surgical pathology laboratories.
